I am often not invited to parties

I started from humble beginnings. A gravel driveway. A wood-burning furnace. A barrel where we burned our trash. A well from which we got our water.

Though the last of six kids, I felt lonely.

I wanted to learn about the world and see what was out there. I would later visit countries such as Germany, Belgium and France. I would even work in Italy for two summers as a props master for an opera company.

I yearn to travel again.

My current escapism is through writing, a passion of mine that I am trying to make my career. However…

One of the best crime dramas on Netflix hails from Finland

Ville Virtanen and Matleena Kuusniemi

The third season of “Bordertown” is available on Netflix. If the series ended today, viewers would crave more while imagining the possibilities if the story continued.

Kari Sorjonen, played brilliantly by Ville Virtanen, is an investigator with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Helsinki, Finland. The stress of work, mixed with his idiosyncratic methods, puts tension on his home life. His wife Paulina, beautifully portrayed by Matleena Kuusniemi, has just beaten brain cancer and pleads with Kari for a lifestyle change.

Kari and Paulina, along with their daughter Janina — played with controlled power by Olivia Ainali, move…

Daphne and Bill

On a darkened theater stage, she gave the cue for her spotlight. Daphne Storm, wearing heels and a wig, dominated the space with her nearly seven-foot frame.

She lip-synced and strolled downstage, signaling another spotlight for the man to her side. His shirt fit tightly over his chiseled torso as he played the character of a confused submissive.

Daphne sauntered over to him and put a collar around his neck, taking control. The young man ripped off his shirt and the audience erupted seeing this tanned Adonis. Daphne pulled on the leash attached to his collar and walked him across…

There is a strange hypocrisy concerning the world of sex and sexuality. Unfortunately, those of us who love writing and advocate for equality are caught in the middle of this context battle.

“When are you going to have kids?” Let’s…

Is this the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning?

Am I floating in a hot air balloon towards the starry sky? Or am I slowly descending into the darkness?

To be quite honest, I don’t know.

It has been far too long since I have had the pleasure of interviewing someone for a profile narrative to post on my inclusion revolution publication. This saddens me greatly and makes me think that it is time to move on and find more stories elsewhere both in the real world and in media.

But she found an eager young man to give her a tour in his apartment

Image by Barbora Franzová from Pixabay

Tyler rode his bike along the river as he usually did. But during graduation week, he really needed to escape. He didn’t like being around so many happy, loud people celebrating getting a piece of paper.

He had his piece of paper, and now he was earning another one in grad school. But he took a few years off before coming back to school — time which aged him in ways he never expected. Some other students called him an old man because of the way he looked at times. …
